The Cincinnati Police Department has refuted all reports of any major breakthrough in the Philant Johnson homicide case. "There have been no arrests in this case and there are no warrants pending," Cincinnati Police Public Information Commander Lt. Mark Briede told sources.

"We've heard that Atlanta radio is reporting it and we've gotten several calls about this. But we know nothing about it."

Because the May 2006 case is still under active investigation, the Cincinnati PD is unable to provide any additional details at this time.

"Our investigators don't discuss their investigations unless there is a major development or an arrest," added Media Liason Fran Cihon.

"Once a homicide takes place, we do a media release announcing the crime and it's investigation. But we don't do updates on a case, with the exception of situations where information is uncovered that the public could use to help us resolve the case. In those situations, we release that information to the press in hopes of driving up Crimestoppers tips."

Earlier this week, reports surfaced that Cincinnati police had two people in custody and were close to arresting the person who shot Johnson to death in May 2006.

Johnson was shot and killed on a stretch of I-75 in Cincinnati after an argument between unknown individuals and members of T.I.’s entourage at Club Ritz.

The assailants open fired on a van in T.I,’s entourage, striking and killing Johnson, 26 and wounding three others.

Last night at a Spring break rap concert in Galveston, TX multiple fights broke out leading to twelve people being arrested.

According to the Associated Press, Houstons Party 93.3 KPTY's "Spring Break Party Beach Bash," turned into a chaotic scene yesterday (3/16) after a performances from Webbie, 2 Pistols, Colby O'Donnis & Lil' Wil & Lil' Keke.

Galveston Police Lt. Jorge Trevino stated that it took officers almost 4 hours to clean up the mess after the fights took place on the beach.

Four officers were initially assigned to patrol the concert but due to the break out, the entire on-duty force was called in. No one has reported injured so far.

Webbie's Savage Life 2 climbed to number 1 on the Top Rap Albums chart this week, backed by his single "Independent." 2 Pistols continues to have success with his single "She Got It," which features T-Pain, from his debut album Death Before Dishonor.

Sheriff: Kansas woman sat on boyfriend's toilet for 2 years; didn't want to leave bathroom

WICHITA, Kan. - Authorities are considering charges in the bizarre case of a woman who sat on her boyfriend's toilet for two years — so long that her body was stuck to the seat by the time the boyfriend finally called police.

Ness County Sheriff Bryan Whipple said it appeared the 35-year-old Ness City woman's skin had grown around the seat.

She initially refused emergency medical services but was finally convinced by responders and her boyfriend that she needed to be checked out at a hospital.

"We pried the toilet seat off with a pry bar and the seat went with her to the hospital," Whipple said. "The hospital removed it."

Whipple said investigators planned to present their report Wednesday to the county attorney, who will determine whether any charges should be filed against the woman's 36-year-old boyfriend.

"She was not glued. She was not tied. She was just physically stuck by her body," Whipple said. "It is hard to imagine. ... I still have a hard time imagining it myself."

He told investigators he brought his girlfriend food and water, and asked her every day to come out of the bathroom.

"And her reply would be, `Maybe tomorrow,'" Whipple said. "According to him, she did not want to leave the bathroom."

The boyfriend called police on Feb. 27 to report that "there was something wrong with his girlfriend," Whipple said, adding that he never explained why it took him two years to call.

Police found the clothed woman sitting on the toilet, her sweat pants down to her mid-thigh. She was "somewhat disoriented," and her legs looked like they had atrophied, Whipple said.

"She said that she didn't need any help, that she was OK and did not want to leave," he said.

She was reported in fair condition at a hospital in Wichita, about 150 miles southeast of Ness City. Whipple said she has refused to cooperate with medical providers or law enforcement investigators.

Authorities said they did not know if she was mentally or physically disabled.

Police have declined to release the couple's names, but the house where authorities say the incident happened is listed in public records as the residence of Kory McFarren. No one answered his home phone number.

The case has been the buzz of Ness City, said James Ellis, a neighbor.

"I don't think anybody can make any sense out of it," he said.

Ellis said he had known the woman since she was a child but that he had not seen her for at least six years.

He said she had a tough childhood after her mother died at a young age and apparently was usually kept inside the house as she grew up. At one time the woman worked for a long-term care facility, he said, but he did not know what kind of work she did there.

"It really doesn't surprise me," Ellis said. "What surprises me is somebody wasn't called in a bit earlier."

Black CSI Student Put Hit on Ex-Husband

A woman who thought she was hiring someone to kill her ex-husband gave an undercover police officer $3,000, a weapon and pictures to do the job, authorities said.

D'antonette Burns, 34, (above) was arrested Monday on a preliminary felony charge of conspiracy to commit murder, Indianapolis police said.

Burns, a forensic science student and full-time employee at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, was studying to be a crime scene investigator, WRTV-TV in Indianapolis reported.

An undercover investigator met Burns Aug. 6 after hearing that she wanted to hire someone for a killing, police said.

Over seven weeks, she met with the officer three times, making a $1,500 down payment and giving him a handgun and pictures of her ex-husband, Robert Mays, 33, police said.

Burns asked the undercover officer to kill her ex-husband and also provided pictures of his home and pictures of and directions to his workplace, police said. She also told the undercover officer, she would tell him how to cover his tracks because she was an expert in forensics.

On Monday, the undercover officer met with Burns and falsely told her he had killed her ex-spouse. She then paid him a second $1,500 installment, and she was arrested, according to police.

Burns and Mays have a 3-year-old child. Police said they think their intervention saved Mays' life.

"She was obviously serious. She had the money. She had the weapon," said Indianapolis Metro police Sgt. Paul Thompson. "She had a special type of ammunition known to law enforcement as particularly devastating 'Black Talon' ammunition, and she definitely meant business."

Students on IUPUI's campus were shocked to hear of the arrest.

"I think it's pretty surprising just because the science students I know are fairly professional," said Barbara Janiak. "We're an ethical group of aspiring scientists."

Burns was being held without bond Monday night.

Bone Thugs-N-Harmony have been forced to pay out more than $200,000 to a Japanese promotion company after allegedly missing a string of tour dates in the country.

World Mix Entertainment recently filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Federal Court claiming the rap trio had defaulted on an agreement to play shows in Nagoya and Okinawa in December 2006, forcing the company to cancel the gigs and refund the ticket sales to disappointed fans.

The firm demanded compensation for the Crossroads stars' contract, which asked for $25,000 per show and $10,000 per photo shoot in addition to all hotel and traveling costs, and their tour rider, which included one "big sack of marijuana", among other items.

Soul singer Angie Stone is urging African-Americans to get tested for diabetes - because it is one of the most serious health challenges facing the black community.

The 47-year-old, who was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes eight years ago, has teamed up with Eli Lilly & Co. on the F.A.C.E. (Fearless African-Americans Connected and Empowered) Diabetes Campaign to advocate screenings for the disease, which affects more than 3 million African-Americans in the U.S., according to the American Diabetes Association.

And she insists it is vital people get the symptoms diagnosed early before it is too late.

She says, "Eight years ago, I was diagnosed with diabetes after I started experiencing a few common symptoms associated with high blood sugar - including frequent urination and excessive thirst. I couldn't stop going to the bathroom, and no matter how much water I drank, I couldn't get enough.

"Despite having a family history of the disease, my diagnosis came as a shock because I didn't think I was a candidate for diabetes. Even after I was diagnosed and my doctor prescribed medication, I didn't truly take the disease as seriously as I should have. I was in denial about my condition and the importance of taking my medication, changing my diet and getting more exercise."

Ex-Con Kills A Tranvestite After He Discovers A "He"!!!

Talib (Sanesha) Stewart, a 6-foot transsexual, was found stabbed in Bronx building (inset) - allegedly by an ex-con who flew into a rage after finding out Stewart was not a woman.

Talib (Sanesha) Stewart was not your everyday sight in the Bronx - a 6-foot man in high heels and lipstick - but was accepted as family by those around the victim, loved ones said Sunday.

So they were shocked to learn that their 25-year-old transgendered neighbor was stabbed to death Saturday by an ex-con who told cops he flew into a rage when he found out his date was not a woman.

"Nesha was a friend of the whole building - a really nice person who didn't deserve that," downstairs neighbor Steven Bamberg, 45, said. "I called him 'her' out of respect."

Police responded to a dispute on Beaumont Ave. about 6 a.m. and found Stewart stabbed several times.

They arrested Steve McMillan, 37, who was still inside Stewart's apartment. He was waiting to be arraigned on a murder charge last night. Police sources said McMillan was a john who flew into a rage after discovering Stewart, a prostitute, was not a woman.

Bamberg, however, denied Stewart was a prostitute.

The statuesque Stewart had breast implants and other plastic surgery to look more like a woman, neighbors said.

McMillan was released from prison in November after serving eight years on a Westchester County drug conviction, state prison records show.

Bamberg said he heard his friend in distress about 5 a.m. and phoned 911."It was like a scream," he said. "Then I heard, 'Uhhhhhh,' softer and softer, her last breath."

When cops arrived, they knocked at Stewart's door repeatedly, Bamberg said. McMillan eventually answered, the neighbor said.

Bamberg said he saw police with guns drawn telling the suspect as they led him outside, "You know your friend upstairs is dead."

"You killed my friend!" Bamberg recalled screaming at McMillan before collapsing onto the curb and crying.

Stewart was well-loved since moving into the building three years ago, Bamberg said."We all accepted her," he said.

Bamberg said McMillan was at the house hours before the killing, claiming to have left something in Stewart's apartment.

He said cops removed the apartment door as evidence.

"There's a big pool of blood on the floor and all over the bed," Bamberg said. "It looks like a war zone."

A spokeswoman with the medical examiner's office said the fatal blows penetrated Stewart's throat and lung.

Stewart's grandmother, Evelyn Stewart, said she loved the victim.

"I've always been close to him," she said after identifying Stewart's body yesterday. "I didn't care what he was."

Rapper The Game has been sentenced to 60 days in jail after pleading guilty to felony gun charges.

The hitmaker, real name Jayceon Taylor, entered his plea in a Los Angeles courthouse and a judge immediately ordered him to spend 60 days in jail and to carry out 150 hours of community service.

The Game faced three counts of making criminal threats and possessing a firearm in a school zone during a fight in the middle of a basketball game last year (07). Two charges were dropped as part of a plea agreement.

The star, who was also placed on three years probation, has until 3 March (08) to turn himself into authorities to begin his sentence, reports TMZ.com.

Last week, The Game claimed he planned to plead guilty to save the expense of a lengthy trial that could put him behind bars for five years.

He said, "The crazy part about this is that I've had guns before in my life. But this time I didn't have a gun. Legendary hip-hop star Dr. Dre has launched a legal bid to view documents belonging to his former label Death Row Records in a dispute over unpaid royalties.

Dre - real name Andre Young - filed legal papers in Los Angeles' U.S. Bankruptcy Court last Tuesday (05Feb08), requesting a court order for the now defunct label to hand over contracts and other documents to help determine the total amount owed to him since the label filed for bankruptcy in April 2006.

Young started up Death Row Records with music mogul Marion 'Suge' Knight in 1991, but sold his 50 per cent share in the company in 1996.

However, he retained the rights to royalties on recordings released before the agreement. He is seeking to reclaim the rights to his 1992 solo debut "The Chronic," after the label's control was placed in the hands of a bankruptcy trustee in July 2006.

Young also alleges Death Row broke an agreement with him by allowing another company distribution rights to his recordings. He wants Death Row to turn over the relative documents by 29 February (08) and have representatives available for deposition on 7 March (08).

The news comes just days after it was revealed music giant Warner is making a $25 million bid for Death Row's back catalogue, which includes hits by rap icons Tupac Shakur, Snoop Dogg and Ice Cube. Death Row folded in 2006 with debts of $137 million and assets worth just $4.4 million.

Managers at hip-hop mogul Jay-Z's newly-opened Las Vegas sports bar have been accused of abusing staff.

The latest venue in the rapper's 40/40 Club chain opened in December (07), just two days before the New Year celebrations.

But the club has been plagued by reports of unprofessional work ethics, with several former staff members speaking out about the poor treatment of employees.

According to Las Vegas Weekly magazine, an estimated 100 employees of the 40/40 Club have voluntarily resigned or been fired from their jobs since its launch.

And many disgruntled workers have gone public with their complaints, including allegations of unfair dismissals, threats, degrading treatment and use of the derogatory term 'n**ger' by members of the management team - rumored to be led by Carter's operating partner Desiree Perez, the wife of co-owner Juan Perez.

But club manager Ramon Mata has played down reports of problems at the venue, saying: "As with all new business, you find out in your first few days of operations what staffing levels are needed. We adjusted accordingly and followed all rules and regulations in terms of employees that were let go."

The 40/40 Club was rumored to have failed a health and safety inspection just days before it was due to open, but the reports proved to be false and the club launched as planned with a star-studded party on 30 December.

R&B singer/producer Teddy Riley has been forced to sell his Virginia recording studio in an effort to pay back debts of around $1 million .

The former Blackstreet star - who has produced tracks for the likes of Michael and Janet Jackson and Mary J. Blige - filed for bankruptcy in 2002.

Lawyers for Riley are currently looking to sell his Future Records Recording Studios in Thalia to pay back angry creditors who loaned him $700,000 in 2005.

Riley defaulted on payments for the borrowed cash from Equitable Relocation Services Inc., and in 2006, the company won a $700,000 judgement against him - but they have so far received just $261,000.

But attorney Richard J. Conrod Sr. is attempting to preserve the studio and sell it as a business as opposed to real estate: "I'm trying to save this iconic studio for the cultural heritage it represents. It would be a shame for it to be mowed down or become anything but a recording studio."

The studio cost more than $3 million when it was first opened in 1991, but the then-state-of-the-art equipment is now out-of-date.

It's not the first time Riley has been hassled for outstanding bills - he has continued to face trouble from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for unpaid income taxes since 2004.

Riley resorted to selling his Virginia Beach home in 2006 for $1.5 million to settle the $1 million he owed the IRS, as well as pay off the mansion's outstanding mortgage.

And he was hit again by another IRS bill for $196,747 in 2007, and in January (08), Virginia state filed a $93,684 income tax lien against him.

Pimp C Died Of Sippin' Syrup!!!

The Los Angeles County Coroner’s office has revealed that UGK member Chad “Pimp C” Butler’s death was caused by prescription cough syrup and a preexisting sleeping condition.

Assistant chief coroner Ed Winter said that the rapper did not overdose, but died from ingesting Promethazine and Codeine, which is frequently mixed with flavored candy and mixed to make a drink known as “sizzurp.”

The concoction also took the lives of legendary Houston DJ, DJ Screw in 2000 and rapper Big Moe, who died of a heart attack in 2007.

Winter also said Pimp C. suffered from sleep apnea, a common sleeping disorder that blocks the air passages during sleep.

"Sleep apnea, you stop breathing," Winter told The Houston Chronicle. "Coupled with a medication that suppresses your respiratory abilities, you end up with an accidental death."
Pimp C, 33, was found dead in his Los Angeles hotel room on December 4, 2007.

According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse, the abuse of prescription cough medicine is on the rise, especially in young adults.

As many as one in every 14 high school seniors have said that they used cold medicine “fairly recently” to get high.

“It’s bad that kids are buying cough syrup and using it this way — it’s not good for them,” said John P. Walters, director of the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy.

A concert promoter is suing R. Kelly for putting a court hearing before his concert commitments.

The 40-year-old singer missed a court date relating to his child pornography trial in Chicago, Illinois on 19 December (07) and was told by a judge that if he failed to show up for a hearing on 20 December (07) then a warrant for his arrest would be activated.

Kelly then cancelled a 20 December concert at Minneapolis' Target Center in Minnesota, which had already been postponed from 6 December (07).

He blamed the court appearance, but promoters at Royalty Records have filed a lawsuit in Atlanta District Court, accusing Kelly of never having any intention of performing the gig, despite taking his $120,000 appearance fee.

Royalty Records is seeking $120,000 plus damages, reports website TMZ.com. Meanwhile, Kelly is awaiting his trial on 14 counts of having sex with a minor to start in May (08).

In essence, Rap really is dead.

Rappers like Queen Latifah, LL Cool J, and Tyrese were smart to diversify their talents and pursue acting careers. This will keep them financially afloat.

A few months ago, Def Jam laid off nearly 50 employees due to the sagging music industry and artists like Madonna have signed lucrative merchandise and distribution deals via the internet.

These type of deals allow artists to bypass record labels and maintain more control.

Other artists are expected to follow suit. It’s rumored that record labels are considering taking a percentage of cash generated by artists on tour to offset financial losses.

The music industry is not the only field affected by the internet. Currently, newsstand publications are suffering due to internet competition and only the strong will survive.

Entertainment sites and blogs provide news in real time with constant updates throughout the day and the service is free, they make money on the backend in advertising.

Whereas, newsstand news is considered dated and old by the time it hits the newsstands. The show “Frontline,” predicts that newsstand publications with the exception of Time, O, People, & Newsweek and other magazines along those lines will be obsolete within the next five years.

Actress Mo'nique Imes has slammed out at claims made by her ex-fiance that she smokes and deals drugs and once threatened to have him killed.

Marvin Dawson, 28, dated the 40-year-old star of U.S. TV show The Parkers until she ditched him in 2003 because of his criminal record that included theft, gun and drug possession charges.

But Dawson claims Imes is a hypocrite, telling the National Enquirer, "Not only was she an avid marijuana user, but she also did cocaine. And what's worse, she began making money dealing coke."

Dawson also accuses her of tax evasion and adds that when they broke up, "Mo'Nique threatened my life. She said if I ever told anyone about her lifestyle, she'd hire someone to kill me."

Dawson claims he is planning to write a book about his life with the star.

But Imes' lawyer Warren Brown has hit back: "Marvin Dawson has no credibility - he's a nut. "If she was dealing in kilos of cocaine, the DEA (drugs enforcement agency) should have her on their suspects list. See if they have anything on her. That's dumb."

Texas pioneer Pimp C's cause of death remains undetermined, nearly two months after he was found dead in a Los Angeles hotel room, the LA County Coroner's office told sources.

"We are not releasing any preliminary information at this time," operations chief Craig Harvey told sources. "We're still conducting a series of tests. Once the test results are complete, then we will be in a position where we'll be releasing a final cause of death."

Harvey said that he expects test results to be available in the next 10-15 days.

Pimp C's body was discovered by the security staff of the Mondrian Hotel on December 4, one day after the 33-year-old rapper's family and friends say he was scheduled to check out of the property.

Officials at the scene stated that since he was found alone and no drugs or drug paraphernalia was present in the room, Pimp C, born Chad Butler, appeared to have died of natural causes.

Nine days later, funeral services were held in the artist's hometown of Port Arthur Texas, with several other rappers in attendance, including Mike Jones, Chamillionaire, Slim Thug and Bun B, who founded UGK with Pimp C in the early 1990s.

In late December, the LA Coroner's office ruled out the possibility of foul play as a cause of death.

Troubled rapper Busta Rhymes has escaped jail after a judge handed him a fine and three years probation on charges of assault and driving under the influence.

The hip-hop star, real name Trevor Smith, entered a plea of not guilty to four separate charges, according to TMZ.com.

Two assault charges relate to separate incidents in 2006 after the star was accused of beating fan LeBron James on Randall's Island, New York in July (06) and his driver Eddie Hatchett in December (06).

The judge sentenced Smith to three years probation - he will spend a year in jail if he violates the terms - and also issued an order of protection for the victims.

Smith was fined $750 and ordered to enroll in a drunk-driving program relating to the DUI charge.

And the final charge - driving with a suspended licence - will see the rapper give up his driver's licence for six months. The driving charges relate to two incidents last year (07).

Last February (07), he was arrested for driving on a suspended license and aggravated driving, then three months later (May07), he was stopped again and charged with driving while ability impaired and driving while intoxicated.

Rapper Lil Wayne has been arrested on suspicion of a series of drug offences.

The hip-hop star - real name Dwayne Michael Carter Jr. - was detained by police in Arizona early on Wednesday (23Jan08) morning when his tour bus was pulled over and searched by the U.S. border patrol.

He was arrested on three felony counts - possession of dangerous drugs, possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to TMZ.com.

The website have also reported that the arrest was carried out in connection with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency.

Carter is currently in the custody of the Yuma County, Arizona, Sheriff's Department awaiting arraignment.

The 25-year-old was previously arrested on drugs charges in Atlanta, Georgia, in 2006.

He is also currently facing illegal gun possession charges and is due to appear in court in New York on 25 February (08).

Turner announced her retirement in 2000, but took the stage for a private charity gig at London's National History Museum last May (07).

Now she'll make a spectacular comeback by performing a currently-unknown song with Knowles' at the Los Angeles awards ceremony.

Knowles, 26, is a long term fan of Turner's and performed her song "Proud Mary," at a Kennedy Center tribute to the veteran musician in 2005.

A gay hate group has sparked outrage with plans to picket the funeral of tragic actor Heath Ledger.

The Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka, Kansas - run by Reverend Fred Phelps - has posted plans on its website to protest at Ledger's portrayal of a gay cowboy in 2005 film "Brokeback Mountain."

The web bulletin reads, "'Brokeback Mountain' star - Heath Ledger - is dead. WBC will picket this pervert's funeral, in religious protest and warning. "Ledger thought it was great fun defying God Almighty and His plan word. Ledger is now in Hell, and has begin serving his eternal sentence there."

The actor was found dead at his New York apartment on Tuesday, aged 28, after suffering a suspected accidental drug overdose.

Dr. Jan Adams the surgeon that operated on Dr. Donda West told Larry King on Larry King Live that the fall out from the media has just about destroyed his practice.

The plastic surgeon who operated on Kanye West’s mother before she died said his practice has been hard hit by bad publicity following her death.

Dr. Jan Adams told CNN’s “Larry King Live” on Tuesday that fallout from Donda West’s death had affected his practice “horribly … it’s almost destroyed.”

Adams told King that as a television personality he was a target for bad press and lawsuits, but said he planned to continue performing surgeries.

He hosted the series “Plastic Surgery: Before and After” for five years until June. He has also appeared on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” and “Entertainment Tonight,” sells a line of skin care products and has written two books on plastic surgery.

West, 58, died at a Los Angeles-area hospital Nov. 10, a day after she underwent breast reduction, tummy tuck and liposuction procedures.

A coroner’s autopsy report found that West most likely died of heart disease coupled with complications after plastic surgery, but also said the exact cause of death couldn’t be known.

“The autopsy said what I expected,” said Adams, who declined to discuss specifics of West’s case, citing patient-doctor privilege.

He had previously said he believed West likely died of a heart attack or other non-surgery related health problems.

In November, Adams abruptly walked off King’s show, saying West’s family asked him not to appear. He said Tuesday he had been in contact with the family’s lawyers but not Kanye West. He did not elaborate.

A Los Angeles palm reader who sat for a session with tragic actor Heath Ledger has revealed she told the "Brokeback Mountain," star he was set for a troubled, short life in 2006.

Ledger called on psychic Dame Darcy to read his fortune during a stay at Hollywood's Chateau Marmont hotel, and asked her to tell him everything about his love life.

But Darcy admits she couldn't help but notice that the actor had a lifeline with "many cross hatches on it", and told him "That indicates trouble."

She tells Life & Style magazine, "I was concerned about him, because I could see that hard times were coming. "Even though Heath was just nominated for an Oscar, he didn't ask me about his career at all.

The star - real name Curtis Jackson - has teamed up with producer Randell Emmett and longtime manager Chris Lighty to form the as-yet-unnamed company, after announcing the collaboration at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah on Saturday (19Jan08).

Beyonce has given the organizers of the 2008 Grammy Awards a huge boost after confirming she'll perform at the event whether or not striking writers picket the ceremony.

Knowles will join the Foo Fighters, who announced earlier this week (beg14Jan08) they'd cross picket lines to perform at the Grammys on 10 February (08).

Event organizers are adamant the show will go on as scheduled, despite the threat of protest from the striking writers.

Writers Guild of America (WGA) union members insisted the Los Angeles music ceremony was "unlikely" to receive a waiver, halting potential picket action, earlier this week.
