Chad "Pimp C" Butler Funeral Will Be Thursday

Chad Butler aka Pimp C will be laid to rest on Thursday Dec 13 in his beloved hometown of Port Arthur, according to a statement released Monday by his longtime publicist.

The memorial service is set to take place at the Robert A. “Bob” Bowers Civic Center in Texas. The funeral will be open to public and begin at 11 a.m.

Bun B, the group's de-facto spokesman and respected voice within hip-hop, spoke with MTV News recently and expressed his sadness over his longtime friend's passing and thanked the group's fans for their outpouring of support.

“I just thank the fans for not being afraid to call in and say how much they loved him,” he added. “Because his family and friends and myself included, we all need to hear that, and it’s good to know that. I’m not alone right now. It’s really good to know that, and I thank them for it. And I love them and he loved them, too.“
