Samuel L. Jackson Explains Movie Role

Samuel L. Jackson has his grandfather to thank for his whispering tones in new movie "Resurrecting The Champ" - he copied the old man's voice.

The actor felt sure that adopting his grandad's high-pitched whisper would be perfect for his homeless former boxing champion character.

He explains, "At the end of his life he talked with a high pitched voice and always made me get closer to him so I could hear him.

"I actually made a lot of people on set kind of lean closer to listen, so I figured the audience would have to pay more attention to what Champ says because what he says is pretty profound."
