Michael Jackson and Sony Music just acquired an additional 125,000 songs to be added to their joint venture, the ATV (Beatles) Publishing Catalogue. The new songs include: Moon River, the theme from Mission Impossible, the "Footloose," soundtrack, the "Forest Gump" soundtrack and "It Don't Mean A Thing If It Don't Have That Swing," etc.
These new acquisitions increase the value of the catalogue to $1.5 billion dollars. Songs by Sam Cooke, Elvis Presley and the Pointer Sisters are also included in this catalogue.
